Terms of Use
Last updated: October 7, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and [empresa] ("we," "us"), the seller of The Open Door and its add-ons. We've tried to write them the way we'd explain them across a kitchen table. By buying or using The Open Door, you agree to them.
1. What you're buying
The Open Door is a digital program you use on your phone or computer at door.sovyagroup.com.br. It includes:
- The Open Door, 21 nights: one guided session a night, in on-screen slides, plus "Before you ask" (a two-minute screen for the moment the question comes up), the fridge paper (an in-app tally you can also print), a private notebook, three extra guides, and "Ask Diane" (an AI chat, see section 7).
- Optional add-ons, offered once, right after your purchase, and later inside the app: What He Says, What It Means (US$37), The List (US$17, the same fifty-two sentences as a printable sheet), and The Bedroom Door (US$67, nights 22 to 60).
Nothing physical is shipped. Prices are in US dollars.
2. One-time payment. No subscription.
Every purchase is a single, one-time charge. Nothing renews, and you will never be billed again unless you choose to buy something else.
Payments are processed by Stripe. When you pay for the main program, Stripe securely saves your card so the add-on pages right after checkout can work with one tap. An add-on is charged only when you press its "Yes" button. We never see or store your full card number.
Your card statement will show a charge that includes the words OPEN DOOR.
3. The 60-day guarantee
The main program: If by night 21 he hasn't started one single thing on his own, email us within 60 days of your purchase and we'll refund every cent. The paper on your fridge decides. We won't ask you to prove anything.
Add-ons: Same sixty days. If an add-on didn't help, one email and it's refunded.
To ask for a refund, write to contato@sovyagroup.com.br from the email you bought with (or use "Request a refund" under Me in the app). Refunds go back to the original payment method; your bank may take 5 to 10 business days to show it.
When a purchase is refunded or disputed, access to that item in the app ends. If the main program is refunded, access to the whole account ends. Anything you've already printed or saved yourself (like your fridge paper) is yours to keep.
4. This is not therapy, and it isn't medical, legal or financial advice
The Open Door is educational and self-help material about a common pattern in marriage. It is not therapy, counseling, or medical or mental-health treatment, and using it doesn't create any professional relationship. It can't diagnose anything, and it isn't a substitute for a licensed professional.
- If you are afraid of your partner, or if there is violence, threats or control in your home, please contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233 (or text START to 88788).
- If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) at any hour.
- In an emergency, call 911.
The program is about your own words and actions. It isn't designed for, and shouldn't be used, to pressure, deceive or control another person.
5. Results vary
Every marriage is different. The stories and timelines in the program (night 7, night 21, day 40) describe what happened for many women, not a promise of what will happen in yours. That's why the guarantee exists.
6. About Diane, the stories and the research
Diane Mercer is a character. She and the women in the program's stories are a dramatization, based on composite accounts of the kinds of experiences described. Names, ages, places and details are illustrative.
The research is real. The studies we refer to are published and can be looked up, including Schrodt, Witt & Shimkowski (2014), Communication Monographs, a meta-analysis of 74 studies on the demand–withdraw pattern, and work by Andrew Christensen and colleagues at UCLA on how that pattern depends on whose issue is being discussed. Our plain-language explanations are our own interpretation and simplification of that work.
7. Ask Diane (the AI chat)
"Ask Diane" is an automated AI assistant, not a person and not a therapist. It's written to answer in Diane's voice and stay within the program's approach.
- It can be wrong, incomplete or out of context. Use your own judgment.
- It won't help with anything meant to manipulate or deceive someone.
- If you mention violence, fear or a crisis, it will point you to the hotlines above instead of coaching you.
- It's limited to 30 messages a day per account.
- Your messages are processed by our AI provider to generate replies (see the Privacy Policy).
Please don't share anything in the chat that you'd need to stay confidential in a legal sense, like information about a court case.
8. Your account
Your access is personal. Please don't share your login or redistribute the program's content. You're responsible for keeping your password private. We may suspend an account that's clearly being shared, resold or used to scrape content; if we do, we'll tell you why.
9. What's ours
All program content (sessions, slides, illustrations, guides, the decoder) belongs to [empresa] or its licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable license to use it for yourself. Your notebook entries and notes are yours.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep the app available, but we can't promise it will never be down. We may improve or correct content over time; we won't take away what you bought. If we ever have to stop offering the program, we'll tell you by email and offer a refund or a way to keep your content.
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll email you before it takes effect. The version that applied when you bought still governs that purchase.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, the program is provided "as is," and our total liability to you for any claim related to it is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can't be waived.
12. Disputes
If something is wrong, please email us first. Most problems are solved in one reply. These terms are governed by the laws of the place where [empresa] is established, except where the consumer laws of your state give you rights that can't be waived.
